  1. This is great; thank you! And as a learner of other foreign languages, it really does require me to not try to “translate” from the English. Many other languages phrase and construct sentences differently, so that can become another trap and point of frustration.

      Trying to translate word for word is a common temptation, but something that works even better is to try to understand the meaning and intention of the sentence.

      Like this, it’s easier to avoid getting stuck with individual words, and focus on the general idea of a sentence instead.
